Privacy Policy - Remove Your Ex

1. Information We Collect

When you use Remove Your Ex, we collect the following information:

Account and authentication information: Email addresses, authentication credentials, and profile information handled through Firebase Authentication and any enabled social sign-in providers.
Photos and processing information: Original photos, removal instructions, generated results, filenames, formats, sizes, and related processing metadata.
Payment and purchase information: Payment details processed by Stripe, plus transaction references and credit-fulfillment records stored by our application. Remove Your Ex does not receive or store full card numbers.
Operational data: Request timestamps, IP or network and user-agent information present in service logs, error diagnostics, and records related to accounts, credits, uploads, processing jobs, and purchases.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, store, process, and deliver the results you request.
To authenticate you and manage your account and credits.
To process and verify payments and fulfill purchased credits.
To secure the service, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot failures.
To send service-related communications.

3. Photo Storage & Processing

Active original photos and generated results are stored privately in Google Cloud's US Central region.
Each photo and removal instruction is sent to Google Gemini through Vertex AI to create the requested result.
Vertex AI uses Google's global endpoint, so processing is not limited to the storage region.
Originals and generated results remain in active storage for up to 90 days from creation and are then automatically deleted. You can delete them sooner from your account.
Incomplete pending uploads become eligible for automatic deletion after one day.

We do not use your photos for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to providing the service you requested.

4. Third-Party Services

Google Cloud and Firebase: Provide authentication, hosting, database services, private image storage, task processing, logging, and Gemini image generation through Vertex AI. They receive account information, photos and removal instructions, generated results, processing metadata, and operational data as needed to provide those services.
Stripe: Provides checkout and payment processing and receives payment and transaction information needed to complete purchases. Stripe, not Remove Your Ex, handles full card details. Stripe may retain transaction data under its own privacy policy and legal obligations.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We apply the following retention periods and deletion practices:

Active original photos and generated results are retained for up to 90 days from creation unless you delete them sooner.
Incomplete pending uploads become eligible for automatic deletion after approximately one day.
Operational request and error logs are retained for up to 30 days.
Account and application metadata is retained while your account is active.
Account deletion removes active images and results, account-linked checkout request and session records, your application account and profile, and your Firebase sign-in identity through our automated deletion workflow.
Limited hash-only Stripe event and fulfillment records that are not directly linked to your account may remain in our application database to prevent duplicate fulfillment and reconcile payments.
Deleted Cloud Storage objects and Firestore historical versions may remain in restricted recovery systems for up to seven days before automatic expiry.
Stripe may independently retain its own payment transaction records.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your login session. These do not track you across other websites.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication, and encrypted payment processing. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Children's Privacy

Remove Your Ex is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date.
