Terms of Service

1. Service description

Remove Your Ex (“the Service”) is a web application that removes people from photographs. You upload a photo, describe who to remove, and the Service processes the image to produce a result with that person removed. Edits are generated by Google’s Gemini image model through Google Cloud Vertex AI. The model regenerates the whole image, so details other than the removed person may change slightly.

Remove Your Ex is operated by Logan Jorgensen, an individual based in the United States (“we”, “us”, “our”).

2. Account terms

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service.
  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • The Service is not offered in the EU/EEA, the UK, or Switzerland. Don’t create an account or buy credits from those countries. Purchases with a billing address there are refunded and no credits are added.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Credits and payments

  • The Service operates on a credit-based system. Each credit allows you to process one photo.
  • Each credit processes one photo and includes one free second edit of that photo. Accounts can create up to 20 edits per day.
  • Credits are purchased through one-time payments. There are no subscriptions.
  • Credits are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law or where Link, as the reseller, grants a refund under its buyer terms. To request a refund, contact Link support or email us. Credits do not expire.
  • If an edit fails, the credit it used is returned to your balance automatically. If a finished result still shows the person you asked us to remove, you can report it from the result: up to 3 reports in any 30 days return the credit automatically, and later reports are reviewed by us. Returned credits are not cash refunds.
  • If a payment is refunded or disputed, the credits from that purchase are removed from your balance.
  • Deleting your account permanently forfeits any unused credits. Forfeited credits are not refunded.
  • Credit purchases are sold through Link, Stripe’s checkout service, which acts as the reseller for these purchases and processes your payment.
  • Prices are listed in USD and exclude sales tax, VAT, or GST. Any applicable tax is calculated from your location and shown at checkout before you pay. Prices may be updated at any time. Existing credits are not affected by price changes.

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Upload a photo unless you took it, own it, or otherwise have the right to use and edit it.
  • Process images you do not have the right to use or modify.
  • Create misleading, defamatory, or harmful content.
  • Harass, stalk, or intimidate any person.
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, abuse, or exploit the Service.
  • Upload illegal content, including any sexual or exploitative content involving minors, or ask for any change to a minor’s body or clothing.
  • Remove, add, or change anyone’s clothing, or create nude, sexual, or sexually suggestive images of any real person.
  • Create images intended to deceive others about real people or events.

We automatically refuse removal instructions that ask to change clothing or create sexual content, and the image model applies its own safety filters.

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice or refund.

5. Your responsibilities for photos

By uploading a photo, you confirm that you have the rights needed to upload and edit it, and that your use and sharing of the result will not violate anyone’s privacy, publicity, or other rights. You are responsible for how you use the results.

6. Intellectual property

  • You retain ownership of the photos you upload.
  • You own the processed (output) images generated by the Service.
  • By uploading images, you grant us a limited license to process them solely for the purpose of delivering the Service.
  • The Remove Your Ex name, branding, and website are our intellectual property.

7. Processing disclaimer

Results may vary and are not guaranteed to be perfect. Processed images may contain artifacts, imperfections, or unintended alterations. By using the Service, you acknowledge that:

  • Results may not always meet your expectations.
  • We do not guarantee specific outcomes for any image.
  • Each photo includes one free second edit at no additional cost, which may produce different results.

8. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not responsible for how you use the processed images.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator of Remove Your Ex from claims, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from photos you upload, instructions you give, results you share, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may also terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Active copies of your uploaded and processed images, account-linked checkout records, your account profile, and sign-in identity will be deleted through the account-deletion process. Restricted recovery copies may remain for up to seven days. Limited hash-only fulfillment records and Stripe payment records may also remain for payment reconciliation, as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Any unused credits will be forfeited.
  • You will lose access to the Service.

11. Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Reporting misuse

If you appear in a photo processed through the Service without your permission, or believe the Service was used to violate these Terms, report misuse by emailing us at contact.jorgensen+removeyourex@gmail.com. Describe the photo and how you found it. We will investigate, may delete related images, and may suspend the account involved. To report content that infringes your copyright, email us with the information listed in 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3).

We read every report and act on it. Accounts used to harass people, fake evidence, or otherwise break these Terms are banned, and their images are deleted. If we learn of child sexual abuse material, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law requires, and keep what the law requires us to keep for that report.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.
